Any kind of commands should be used the moment the dog is still a puppy. Teaching a dog anything while it is young is easy and fast from it to learn than when it has already grown to a much older dog. If a dog does not know dog beds, it will be very hard for the owner to train it to start sleeping in one. It may still want to spend the night on the couch instead on its new slumber bed. Using the OFF or STOP commands to a dog will help it learn the human language fast at an early age. This means that, the dog should at least know when his keeper does not want him (dog) to do something or does not want him to repeat something he has just done.

Some dogs may even learn hand signal language whenever it is used appropriately. For the OFF command to work well, it has to be applied whenever a dog does something that is not wanted. When making the command, keep an eye contact with the dog and point a finger at it only when insisting. Shouting is not necessary because it may not understand why the noise is being made, simply snarl while keeping the mouth open and look at it directly. It will surely listen and obey. If he obeys, praise him with a gentle pat on his head and back stroke his fur. Get it to the dog crates and train it to enter among other simple commands, it will learn.
